For more than three decades, Mary C. Owens has been helping people navigate the ups, downs, and unexpected twists of life. As a Clinical Social Worker, Life Transitions Coach, Professional Speaker, and Author, she’s passionate about guiding clients through change—whether it’s a new beginning, a sudden loss, or simply that feeling of “something needs to shift.”

Mary’s work is all about turning overwhelm into clarity and uncertainty into confident forward motion. She helps clients move beyond fear, embrace what’s next, and create lives they choose—rather than lives that just happen.

With over 35 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker and Professional Coach, Mary has supported hundreds of individuals through significant challenges, always with warmth, empathy, and practical strategies that lead to real results.

As the author of Embracing Change: How to Face Your Fears and Start Taking Action and a sought-after speaker, Mary has inspired audiences nationwide through engaging keynotes, interactive workshops, and relatable storytelling. Known for her approachable style and genuine connection, she leaves people feeling seen, encouraged, and ready to take action.

Mary earned her Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Mary Washington. She is also a Certified Life Coach and Divorce Coach.
